species name : ウィキペディア英語版 | species name
Species name is a technical term in biological taxonomy. Unlike the closely related term "specific name", it has the same meaning in the different nomenclature codes, and refers to the two-part name that is used for a species in binomial nomenclature. For example, ''Silene latifolia'' is the species name for a plant that is commonly called "white campion", and ''Bos primigenius'' is the species name for a type of cattle commonly called "zebu". In these two examples, ''latifolia'' is the botanical "specific epithet" or "species epithet", and ''primigenius'' is the zoological "specific name". ==See also==
